Not a Baby Anymore!

What a wonderful year we have had now that Macie has completed our family!  I think that every year passes quicker than the last and it breaks my heart.  I want to savour every last moment!  This sweet little girl has brought all of us so much joy and love.  She is a very happy baby and we are very thankful she is a good sleeper like her sister!  We still snuggle every night before bed and I hope that doesn't end too quickly.

Macie's smiles will warm your heart.  She is a very serious baby and studies new people and places all the time.  She makes you work for a smile!  But when you get one, you can't help but smile back.  The biggest smiles are still reserved for Morgan.  Macie loves her big sister so very much.  My cup runs over when I see the two of them together.  Macie will smile and laugh every time she is with her!  Well, except when Morgan does something she doesn't want.  Then she will let Morgan know that she is not happy!

She is a big and growing girl like her sister.  At almost 23 pounds and 30 1/2 inches long, Macie is a big girl!  She crawls so fast and is starting to think about walking.  It shouldn't be too long now!  She loves to play peek-a-boo and will blow kisses which is too sweet.  Macie also loves to dance when Morgan is twirling around her!  She says Momma, Dada and Kitty!  But babbles all the time.  I was worried that she wouldn't ever need to talk since Morgan talks enough for all four of us!  But she is keeping up nicely.

Macie has a gray cat stuffed animal...just like Morgan!  And she calls him "Kitty Kitty".  She will drag him around by the arm everywhere she goes.  She also has a blanket that is just like Morgan's and sleeps with it.  It will comfort her when she needs it, but it doesn't travel everywhere like Kitty Kitty!

She is the light of our life and I can't remember what life was like without her.  We all love her so much and are so thankful God chose to give her to us!

Macie is Cute as a Button!

Our trip to the beach would not have been complete without celebrating our sweet Macie baby!  With our toes in the sand we sang "Happy Birthday" and loved on our girl.  With having a fall birthday, football games will always play a role in both my girls birthdays.  Morgan had her first birthday in Starkville at a tailgate so it was only fitting that Macie have a gameday birthday too!  With kickoff at 3:00pm we decided to have breakfast on the beach.  The weather was perfection and I could not have asked for more.  Macie had all of her family surrounding her with love which is just the way it should be.  And when it came time for cake she dove right in...and loved it!  The rest of us were dressed in our maroon except for Mom and Dad who were in red (boo).  And Macie?  Well, she was cute as a button of course!
She loved playing in the balloons!
Macie noticed herself in her pictures too
 Buttons buttons everywhere

She started out a little tentative until Morgan showed her how to jump in...
 ...and jump in she did!

The Perfect Weekend

Last weekend was absolute perfection.  When we looked at our calenders in the spring we realized the perfect storm was brewing: Macie's first birthday was on a Saturday, our Bulldogs were playing at Southern Alabama, AND Dad had just been asked to announce Southern Alabama's football games!  We knew a birthday on the beach was in our future!  Jeff was able to take a few days off of work and we headed south on Wednesday.  We met Sam and Sissy at Martinique, where we stayed for our trip.  It was wonderful to return to Martinique.  We stayed there with my family when we first started coming to the gulf and this is where we fell in love.  And this place made my parents decide to retire here!  It definitely holds a special place in our heart!

After two days of perfect pool time (way too many jellyfish at the beach to swim), having our first shrimp boil at my parent's house and a little golf for the boys, we were ready for Saturday!  We had brunch on the beach (more on that later) and then drove to Mobile to cheer on the Dawgs.  Our weekend could not have been more perfect if we had special ordered it!

Phil made the BEST shrimp boil for dinner...Dad, did you take notes?
This was amazing.  Mom found Grandma's wedding dress!  And of course Morgan wanted to promptly put it on...and twirl.  So special to see her in that dress.  And yes, Morgan was the closest one to actually fit in the dress!
Go Dawgs!  It was so cool to get to hear Dad announce the game!  He did a great job and didn't even say Racers once!  What a professional!

A Hot Win

Another weekend, another game in Starkville.  And another win for our Bulldogs!  After a wet day last weekend, we faced a HOT day this time.  We had an earlier game so we didn't tailgate like usual.  But that allowed us to come and visit with other people we don't normally get to see!  And we were so thankful that Abby joined us!  The girls and I watched most of the game in the air conditioning at the concession area.  But we loved watching our Dawgs beat UAB!
 Dressed and ready to go!

A is for Apple

Another school year has begun!  This year, both girls are at preschool at our church.  Morgan is back to attend 4 year old preschool and Macie is in the infant room.  Morgan has been asking for weeks when she was going to school.  And Macie was unaware that her world was about to be rocked!  Morgan's sweet class is all girls this year!  I can't even imagine the drama to come out of that room.  I pray for her teachers daily.  And I was worried about Macie for nothing!  Her sweet teachers have kept her busy and she has not cried even once!  Morgan goes three days a week and Macie goes two.  And now Mom can have more time to get back to HealthWorks!

Morgan was so proud of her new dress...
 ...and her new backpack!

 She was ready to play
And oh so excited to play with Mary Tannler!
When I peeped in on Macie she was just fine!
