100 Days Smarter

One of my favorite project of Morgan's kindergarten year was last week.  They celebrated the 100th day of kindergarten in grand style!  First they were told to make a project of 100 things.  Morgan found some flower buttons at Hobby Lobby and decided to make a garden.  It turned out so cute and she was really proud!  Then they had to dress up like they were 100 years old.  It was hilarious!  Morgan, who is always up for an excuse to wear a costume, was really excited.  RoRo brought many items from my Grandma to see what Morgan wanted.  She chose a hat, gloves and earrings from her great great grandmother, a shirt, skirt and purse from her great grandmother, and glasses, shawl and cane from her other great grandmother.  So fun!

Morgan also had Perky from her class come home to complete another project that week!

Full of Love

Valentine's Day was another great day of fun!  The girls dressed in their pink and hearts to take their pinwheel valentine's to their class parties.  That weekend Mom came up to spend some time with us too!  We played all weekend!  What a great way to spend our days- with the ones we love!
 Ready to party!
 Brunch with RoRo
We loved our kitty love shirts from Bubba!

HealthWorks! Field Trip

Morgan's kindergarten class came to HealthWorks! for a field trip.  I had to work that day so it was perfect!  Her sweet class had a blast learning to be SuperHero Healthy!

The Comings and Goings of January

January came and we got back to our normal routine which brought school for the girls and work for me and Jeff.  While we took it easy and stayed pretty boring, we were able to find some fun too!
Jeff and I took Morgan to watch our Bulldogs play basketball!
We had so much fun on our impromptu visit
Macie decided she wanted a "tonytail" like Morgan before school one day
One of the highlights was lunch with Dr. Abraham!  He organized a great afternoon with his Roadrunner and Orientation Leader alumni.  He is one of my mentors and I will always be grateful to him for helping to make Mississippi State my home.  He helped to shape me into the person I am today and I loved visiting with him and feeling like I was in Roadrunner class again... candy bars and all!
Dr. Abraham and his Tupelo alumni
 Silly girls
Morgan and I made it to Memphis for my Chi O Christmas!  Ella Claire, Meredith, Morgan and Claudia were able to be big girls with us.
We all made it this year to Christina's new house!
 Love this kid
We even had a snow day!  Look close and you'll see all the snow that shut down the town for the day.  Haha!
I was able to take Macie to Hip Hoppers at HealthWorks! one day
One of my favorite parts of this year is watching Morgan grow every day.  She is learning to read and is just doing so great.  It makes me so proud!

Fun in Foley

After Christmas we spent a wonderful time in Foley with my family.  Carrie and Bobby were there for a few of those days too!  After the hustle and bustle of the holiday season it was really nice to slow down and relax for a time.  We all enjoyed playing and resting.  We even found a few hours of sunshine to make our way down to the beach!  I love this new tradition of our post-Christmas unwind at the beach!
Morgan made sugar cookies with RoRo
We even let Packe relive the old days and put Barbie stickers on Morgan's new Barbie camper!
After dinner one night we stopped at the court square in Foley to play among the lights
It was sunny for only a half a day!  We practically ran to the sand when we woke up!
Morgan was so ready to put her toes in the sand...
 ...Macie was not!
This picture perfectly sums up our beach time so far- Morgan buried in the sand and Macie on a towel watching!  Haha!
 She is so happy
 Macie was too!
 Life lessons with GG
 Morgan and RoRo playing
And then the impossible happened!  At lunch Macie sat down and played in the sand!  There is hope yet!
 Love these two beautiful girls
The next day we went to Mobile to see the Chocolate Exhibit at the children's museum.  I think Morgan was disappointed that we didn't eat the chocolate and just learned about it!
 New Year's Eve shenanigans

Morgan and Macie watched the New York ball drop at 11:00 and thought they made it to midnight!  And the old folks were really proud we actually made it to midnight!

Happy Birthday Jesus!

Christmas morning arrived and Morgan was ready!  She woke up the whole house and got GaGa and Pop to get up too.  Once they arrived the opening of presents began.  Morgan tore into hers like it was a race.  Macie took all day!  Those girls are so different sometimes.  We had a ball just watching those girls enjoy it all.

When everything was opened, Jeff and I packed the car while the girls played.  Then we headed south!  After driving through huge storms and stopping twice for Macie to get sick we finally made it to my parent's house in time for dinner.  After dinner there were more presents!  The day was long but filled with so much love and happiness.
 Santa came!
Waiting on GaGa and Pop to open gifts is hard
 Morgan enjoying her new vanity
 "Look what we got GaGa!"
 Macie liked her new chair
 A barbie camper for Morgan!
Santa brought pancakes for Macie's kitchen
 Anna dresses!
The one picture I took when we got to Foley. Notice Macie in one sock.  This was the only piece of clothing that was not thrown up on during the trip to their house.  And the rest of her clothes were packed so deep in the trunk we couldn't get to them!  Didn't slow her down when she opened her presents though!
