Pumpkin Patch Fun

Morgan's class got to take a field trip to the Pumpkin Patch this week and I was able to go join in the fun!  Jeff stayed home with Macie so we got to have some big girl time together.  Her three year old preschool class at our church is just about the sweetest thing.  Morgan loves going to school and she has two wonderful teachers.  We had big fun and it was really special to watch her play with her friends and classmates.  We even came home with two perfect pumpkins!

To the Beach!

Last weekend Mom and Dad talked Jeff into missing a home football game!  I guess the promise of great seafood at the Shrimp Festival, some golf and some relaxation was too much to turn down.  Since Jeff is still off work we packed up and headed to the beach on Thursday to spend a long weekend with RoRo and Packe.  It was a perfect trip!  We got to slow down a bit and just enjoy.

While we there, we spent the day at the Shrimp Festival in Gulf Shores.  We ate some really yummy food and had fun checking out the vendors and listening to the music.  It was a great way to spend the day!  Poor Macie got so hot in her stroller though so we cut our time a bit short to head home.  Dad and Jeff also got two days of golf in while Mom, Morgan and I spent some time on the beach.

But I think my favorite part of our trip was getting to see Big Jessie and introduce her to my girls!  Big Jessie is one of my Grandma's best friends and also the wonderful woman I was named after.  She flew in to spend some time with Grandma and we got to see her too!  On Sunday we all had brunch at the beach and got to have a great visit.

Our wonderful trip was completed with a quick stop in Hattiesburg for dinner with the Gianola's.  The perfect end to a perfect trip!

Our New Normal

We are settling into our new routine of life now that Macie is home with us.  After my Mom left us, Sissy joined us for a few days as well.  The help was much appreciated!  Fortunately Jeff was able to take some vacation time and help at home too.  Now that his two week paternity leave has been extended to four (and counting) thanks to the government shutdown, he is getting some real quality time with his girls!

It has been especially helpful to have Jeff home because he has been here to run Morgan and Macie back and forth when needed.  For Macie's first few weeks we have been trying to get her weight back up.  After SEVERAL trips back to the follow up clinic at the hospital, we at least are moving in the right direction.  She is no longer losing weight and is actually gaining some!  Who knew gaining a few ounces in a day would be such an accomplishment!  At her two week appointment she was up to 8lbs 1oz and we were pleased even though we weren't quite back up to her birth weight of 8lbs 4oz.

But Macie is a very happy and content baby!  She loves to be held and rocked and snuggles into me just like Morgan did... and still does.  Morgan is a huge help with Macie and kisses on her all the time.  Of course I worry about germs every time she comes near her, but it is just too sweet to see the love between them!  Macie turns to look for Morgan every time she hears her voice.

We are loving our new life!  Here are a some pictures of our last few weeks...

Macie's First Gameday!

This weekend Macie made her first appearance in Starkville for the LSU game!  It was a beautiful day so Macie and I got brave and thought we could try out the tailgate.  She did great!  It was a perfect day under the tent and it felt good for me to be back as well.  Jeff went down earlier to set everything up and then the girls and I joined him that afternoon.  Carrie and Bobby were in town too so we got to spend great time with them!  When Jeff and Morgan went in to the game, Macie and I headed back home.  It was sad not going into the stadium to cheer on the Dawgs, but we had reached our fill of fun for the day.  It was a great day for all of us!

Fire Station Field Trip

This week Morgan's class took a field trip to the Fire Station and we got to go!  It was extra special because Jeff was still off from work and got to come too!  Sissy was with us this week so Macie stayed home with her to get some GaGa time!  We all walked the few blocks to the station and the firemen talked to the kids about fire safety and let them climb in the fire truck.  They were too cute!  It was fun to spend time with Morgan and her class and I'm glad we could share!

Daddy Date Night

Last Saturday Jeff and Morgan went to the State football game together.  To say Morgan was thrilled was an understatement!  She wore her gameday dress all day and kept asking when she could go to the "real" football game.  I guess she was tired of watching it on TV and was ready to go to the stadium.  I don't blame her!  She told her Daddy she wanted to see lots of fireworks (which they shoot off when the Bulldogs score) and Daddy said, "Me too!"  Good thing the Dawgs delivered a win and brought lots of fireworks!
Look how cute they are ready to cheer!
