Beach Extravaganza!

I will apologize in advance for the amount of pictures that follow.  We just spent a wonderful 10 days at the beach and we documented every fun-filled second!  It was Macie's first time to put her toes in the sand and she did so great!  Yes, we have been to Mom and Dad's with Macie, but she had never made it down to the water until now.  We had perfect weather for our entire trip and took full advantage!  The girls and I had some free time and so we headed south.  Jeff was able to join us for a long weekend while we were there too!  So let's start at the very beginning (I hear it's a very good place to start)...

We got there on Sunday just in time for the neighborhood cookout.  So on our first day Morgan was ready to hit the beach!  Let me just tell you, getting myself and two girls ready for time at the beach is hard work!  Without Mom and Dad I can't imagine it actually happening!  But we made it and my Dad had a bunch of happy girls on his hands.  We stayed a few hours that afternoon and headed home for dinner.  We also got to see Grandma's new house.  Yes, my Grandma is moving again!  This time just down the street!  She is thrilled and Mom is getting her packing hands ready.

RoRo giving Macie "the talk".  She did the same with Morgan on her first time at the beach.  She has told my girls that the beach is the best place in the world and we all love it.  Seems to have worked because they both are so happy at the beach too!

After two days on the beach we decided to switch it up.  Dad had the first day of his new job on Wednesday!  So we sent him on his way and spent the day in Mobile.  After lunch and a little shopping we went to the Exploreum Science Museum.  It was big fun!  Some things were a bit over Morgan's head, but she really enjoyed it.  We spent the rest of the day playing there and stayed until it closed!  We will be back for sure!  We met Dad at Flippers for dinner to celebrate his return to the working world!

Jeff made it to us late Thursday night so Friday was a pool day!  Morgan has been getting so brave with her swimming and even jumped off the side all by herself!  This is a huge step for our girl who can be timid at times.  We are very proud!  Friday night Mark and Erin Morris came to town.  Mark is an adopted Murray State student who my parents fell in love with during his visit as a senior in high school!  He is very special to us and my parents were thrilled to see him!  We left them and had dinner with the Byars.  A great end to our day!

On Saturday morning Carrie and Drew made it for breakfast to spend time with Mark and Erin before they had to leave.  After yummy pancakes it was another perfect day to spend on the beach!  That night we had Carrie, Bobby, Drew, Mrs. Jan, Janna, Michael and baby Bowen over for dinner.  It was the perfect opportunity to toast our newly engaged couple!

Sunday we had brunch at the Beach Club in Fort Morgan.  This is quickly becoming a favorite spot for us!  We had yummy yummy food and then let the boys go play golf.  While the boys were playing, we met Carrie at Mrs. Jan's new condo to play there.  The pool area was so much fun that we didn't even make it to the beach!  In addition to the pool they had a lazy river AND a water slide!  I knew Morgan would love the lazy river, but I never thought she would go down the slide.  But I was wrong!  She wanted to go twice!  I had to go down with her, but we did it!  My brave girl!!

We had so much fun for our week 10 days with my parents! We did it all! I can't believe Mom and Dad let us take over for that long but we are sure glad they did!

Party Time!

This week was Morgan's last day of 3 year old preschool at our church.  We adore this school and this year was no exception.  Morgan had the sweetest class with the best teachers.  She is going to miss Mrs. Mary Lin and Mrs. Paula!  They celebrated the last day with a party at Fairpark.  The plan was to play in the fountain but it was too chilly for that!  But the kids still had a blast playing on the jumpy and the playground.  The snow cone truck even made an appearance!  Macie and I had a great time playing with Morgan and her friends!

Flipping and Flopping

Morgan has completed another year at Flip Flop gymnastics and had her recital last week.  She was very excited to preform for us and show off her new skills.  She did very well and has improved a ton this year!  Her teacher is so sweet and she loves Mrs. Misty.  She may never win a gold medal, but she sure has fun!
