The Birthday Extravaganza!

This past weekend was a wonderful celebration of a fantastic woman.  My Grandma had her 80th birthday so we celebrated in grand fashion!  My Grandma is my inspiration.  I often say that I want to be as cool as Grandma when I am her age.  And this is no joke.  Not only is she the most loving and compassionate woman I know, but she is so much fun!  After moving to a town where she knew not one soul just a few years ago, she had over 30 people at her birthday party this weekend!  This is just a testament to how loved she truly is by all who meet her.

We had so much fun and Morgan thought it was great that her GG had not one but two birthday parties!  On Friday (her actual birthday) we had lunch and cupcakes with all our family that came to town.  Morgan thought we should play party games so it was a great thing RoRo was prepared!  After some Birthday BINGO we played Pin the Tail on the Donkey.  What a hoot!  I'm not sure who had the most fun... Morgan or Grandma!

Saturday was the big day of fun.  Grandma lives in a wonderful neighborhood filled with the most fun people.  We had a party with cake, snacks and drinks at the clubhouse where everyone got to visit and celebrate Grandma.  After the party our family headed back to Mom and Dad's house for a yummy birthday dinner and s'mores!  We finished the rest of the long weekend enjoying our time together since it doesn't happen as often as we wish.  It was the perfect weekend full of family, fun and the most wonderful woman I know.

We absolutely could not have made it through the weekend without Erin!  She played with both my girls all weekend long.  From the moment she walked in the door Morgan never left her side!

A Hoot of a Time

Last weekend is one of my favorites every year.  It is when my Chi Omega sisters and I get together every year to celebrate Christmas.  This year they all made the trip to Tupelo and I was thankful for that!  We are now up to 7 kids and they are all girls!  We definitely have our hands full!  It is such a wonderful and crazy chaos that when the husbands walk in their eyes get big. But we wouldn't have it any other way!
Saturday night at my house... you think we would go out to a restaurant?

Jackson Fun

To round out our trip we headed to Jackson to spend a few days.  On Thursday Jeff got to go with Sissy to her treatment so I took the girls to the Mississippi Children's Museum.  We had a blast!  Morgan ran and played while sleeping Macie and I tried to keep up.  Later that night we met Kathryn, Stephanie and Collin (we missed you James!) at Crechale's for dinner.  I miss those girls so much and love the time we get to spend together.  The only thing that would have made it more perfect would have been Ashely!  After seeing them I felt complete.  It was the perfect way to finish our trip!
 All the fun we had
I loved watching her from afar.  She loved dancing and watching herself in the mirror the best!

Starting with a BANG!

After we left the beach we went to NOLA to stay with the Byars.  We got to spend New Year's with them and stay in their new home.  On New Year's Eve we went into the city to get some breakfast.  Beignets from Cafe du Monde?  Yes please!  Morgan does not remember her last trip to NOLA so it was all brand new.  When we walked by Jackson Square Morgan asked if Princess Tiana was home.  Gotta love that Disney!  I told her that Tiana didn't live here exactly but we were going to eat some of her beignets.  Morgan loved them!  But let's be honest, what's not to love!  After getting to meet baby Helena and seeing Holly and Brad's new home, we went back to the house to cheer on our Bulldogs.  Hail State!  We were ready to ring in the New Year after watching our Bulldogs win big in the Liberty Bowl against Rice.  (And yes, it did pain me a bit to cheer against the owls.  Why couldn't they be something else?)

Freddie and Paige came in to celebrate with us too!  In Mitch and Kristin's neighborhood they shoot off fireworks all night.  I thought, "Ok, they picked up some sparklers and little things."  I was wrong.  Dead wrong.  These fools bought the professional stuff!  It was a better show than what I saw for the 4th of July this year!  And they were set off right in front of the house!  How these kids slept through all that racket I'll never know.  But it was awesome!  We had so much fun and finished our trip with a Radke New Year's while we watched football the next day.  It's always fun to spend time with our crew!

Heading South

The day after Christmas we packed up and headed to the beach to continue our Christmas celebrations!  And let me just say, my packing job was a work of art.  Since we would be gone nearly 10 days we had a ton of stuff with us.  When Jeff told me it couldn't be done, I knew I had been issued a challenge!  Off we went packed to the gills...thank goodness for the upgrade to the SUV!  We made it in time for presents and dinner.  Morgan had recovered from her present coma from the day before and was ready for more action!

We spent a few days with RoRo, Packe and Aunt Carrie and had a great time!  The guys got two days of golf in, we had a girls afternoon with a trip to see Frozen (it is really good!) and even got a trip down to the sand.  We even got to visit with Tina and John when they came in to stay with Mom and Dad for a few days.  Even with a bit of rain, we still had fun!

They Must Have Been Good This Year

We woke up Christmas morning to find that Santa had come!  Morgan was so ready to jump in and see what Santa had left for us, but had to wait a minute to get everyone up too!  Once we were all settled in we passed out stockings.  After opening her stocking, Morgan helped Macie see what was in hers.  Then she dove right into the presents from Santa!  She was loving everything and showed Macie all her gifts too.  Morgan will be sad when Macie can open her own gifts!  We paused for breakfast and then came back to open the rest of the gifts.  At this point Morgan was kinda over it all and just wanted to play with what she had.  So we did!  We spent all day in our jammers and played with everything.  Then that night Jeff grilled steaks for a yummy Christmas dinner.  It was a perfect day!
Our tree was perfect this year and I loved our gift tags!
"Mom, hurry and take this picture so I can open all this behind me!"
So the new toy box fits Morgan perfectly!
 "Look what you got Macie!"
"I will teach you all about these princesses too"

Santa brought matching owl slippers too!

Favorite gift of the day was our Elsa dress from Bubba!  There was a poof of glitter when we opened the box...thanks Disney!
