Aunt Carrie's House

I asked Morgan what she wanted to do the other day and she said, "I want to got to Aunt Carrie's house!"  So we picked a day and went to have some fun in Florence.  After my checkup at the doctor's office (Baby Leddy is doing good!) we drove to Florence to make it in time for Carrie to get off work.  For the longest time, Carrie has wanted to take us to this really cool park and we finally made it!  And oh man, this place was amazing!  With two HUGE playgrounds, Morgan would have stayed forever.  I have never been more thankful for my sister who truly was "Super Aunt" and followed Morgan up and down every ladder and slide.  We then went to feed the geese and find turtles and fish around the lake.  It was a perfect day.

We always have so much fun.  When we went to leave the next day Morgan didn't want to come home!  I swear she would live with Aunt Carrie if I would let her.  But I'm pretty sure she would come home when she discovers that Carrie hates chocolate and wouldn't have M&M's in her house.

2 Year Old Preschool Ends

This week brought Morgan's last day of preschool at FUMC.  To say that she has loved this year is an understatement!  She had to amazing teachers who she adored.  Each day she was excited to go to class and would jump out of the car when we got there.  This year also brought on friends.  It was the first time that she would talk about what she did each day and who she would play with.  She loved Sam, Marley, Zola and Ann Bailey.  And she would talk about how much trouble Bryce got into each day!  My sweet girl grew so much.  We look forward to another great summer back at FUMC!

Morgan's Gymnastics Recital

Yesterday was Morgan's last day of gymnastics so they had a recital where the parents could come and watch what they have learned all year.  Morgan has loved gymnastics this year!  I'm not sure we are going to win any gold medals in our future, but she has really progressed this year.  And she's having so much fun doing it!  What more could a mother want?  Her teachers have been really sweet as well.  We can't wait until next year!!

And We are Having...

A girl!!  To say Morgan is excited to have a little sister is an understatement!  She wouldn't even speak of the option of a boy being in Mommy's belly.  We are thrilled to know we have a healthy little girl about to join our family.  Lord knows we already have enough pink and sparkle to go around!

And So the Goodbyes Begin

This weekend we went to Murray to celebrate my Dad at his retirement reception.  We went up Saturday after Morgan's swim lesson and made it in time to watch the Derby!  My Grandma made mint juleps (mine a virgin) and we all wore hats!  We even put money into the pot and drew names for the horses...of course Jeff drew the winner!

It was a chilly and wet weekend (one's that we have been used to lately) in Murray but that didn't dampen our fun!  Sunday we filled our bellies full of Mexican food and right before we ate dinner Morgan asked where the Cinco de Mayo decorations were!  Gotta love that Handy Manny show on Disney!  Ha!

Dad's reception was at his office on Monday afternoon.  Carrie made it just in time!  It was just wonderful and many people said some sweet things about Dad and what he has meant to Murray Sate.  The news even came to interview him to do a news spot on the reception!  It was wonderful to see all the kind people who made their way in the rain to say good bye to Mom and Dad.  Dad even got up and said a few words.

We all are so very proud and very excited for the next chapter in my parent's life.  The actual move will be a bitter-sweet moment for me.  But there will be many new memories to be made at the beach!

This cat is so sweet and will stand there as long as Morgan will pet her.  Too bad our own cat Josie won't do the same!

Growing Girl

My sweet girl is getting so big!  She is now three and a half and getting smarter every day.  As we get ready to become a family of four, I want to remember Morgan and all her silly ways before life gets crazier.

She is all girl and I love it!  She loves anything Disney and anything princess.  We play a ton of dress up- accessories and all!

She really is the sweetest girl.  Yes, we ride the emotional roller coaster that is a three year old.  One moment she's up, and the next she's a mess.  But she is precious and has such a loving heart.  She loves a good hug and a kiss!  And there is nothing sweeter in this world than when she tells you she loves you.  Melts my heart every time!

When she knows she's in trouble, she has started telling me, "Mommy, I don't like to see that angry face.  Show me that pretty smile!"  Hard to stay mad at her after that.

If you ask her favorite color she'll tell you, "All the colors in the rainbow.  Plus glitter."  Yep, my girl loves her sparkle!

She has started to really learn words to songs.  We have a CD from Fisher Price Little People that has Sunday School songs on it.  We listen to it All.  The.  Time.  But she loves it!  Her favorite song is, "Rise and Shine" but she calls it the animal song since it talks about putting the animals on the ark.  My favorite part is the chorus that says, "Give God the glory glory, children of the Lord."  At the top of her lungs she will sing, "Give God the glory glory, children oh my Lord."  Makes me laugh every time.

Morgan also has a (sort of) imaginary friend.  Sam Britt is one of her favorites at school and she pretends to play with Sam all the time- even when he's not here.  She's going to be heart broken when she figures out the Sam and his family are moving to Nashville at the end of the school year.

Her favorite thing to say to me now is, "Mommy, that is ridiculous!"  I have no idea where she got that.  And she'll use it even when it's not appropriate.

One of my favorite things she will say is, "Mommy hold you" when she wants me to hold her.  I just think it's so sweet!

Jeff and I are so blessed to have this kid in our life.  She brings us joy every day.  She also teaches us patience and humility as well!  But we wouldn't trade a single second.  She is going to be a great big sister!

Our Little Fish

Last weekend Morgan had her first swimming lesson.  She was so excited and kept telling me she was going to learn to swim like a mermaid!  She has five little friends in her class and Ms. Ashley is really sweet with them.  She did well for her first time!  I was proud to watch her listen to the teacher so well.  She has a lesson every Saturday morning the month of May and is ready for her next one!
 Ready to swim!

A Picnic Lunch

Yesterday Morgan and I had an entire day of fun!  I had been promising her some quality time at the park.  She woke up and requested "Daddy's Park" which is right in front of his office.  We decided to pack a picnic lunch so Jeff could join us for a bite to eat!  Morgan even wore her bathing suit so she could play in the fountains.  We had big fun and I see many more picnics in our future this summer!
