Our Little Chef

One of the new things Morgan gets to do in Kindergarten is to be Chef of the Week.  At the beginning of the year we picked a Friday and signed her up for her turn.  It finally arrived!  This is their first attempt at a presentation.  They were able to choose a food and show her class how to prepare it.  She had said all along she wanted to make pancakes, which are her favorite.  But someone had already made those on their day, so she changed her mind to make chocolate chip muffins.  Whew!  This was a much easier choice for Momma!  We made some the night before so we could share them with her class mates.

I was so proud of my girl.  She did amazing!  She was not nervous at all.  I sat beside her and helped prompt her a little bit.  But she took it and ran.  This was one proud Momma!  And everyone loved her yummy muffins!

And she did the weather in class that day too!

50's Day

To celebrate their 50th day of Kindergarten, Morgan's class had a 50's Day!  And who already had her outfit ready?  Morgan!  She was ready to wear her Halloween costume again!  They had a ball.  They danced, did games and crafts, made coke floats and ate hamburgers from Johnny's Drive In (where Elvis loved to eat when he was a child in Tupelo).  Mrs. Kathy even had a friend bring a 50's car for the kids to get into.  Later that day they went to a drive in movie in their classroom.  Just precious!

We Wore Red

We have wanted to watch Garrett Schwettman kick in his final year at Western Kentucky and we finally got our chance!  Mom, Morgan and I packed up and headed north to Bowling Green.  Morgan and I had to buy and borrow some red to wear to the game.  We don't own much red in this house!  But we gladly did it to support Garrett!

We got to town on Friday with plenty of time so we made a pit stop in Glasgow to visit with my great Aunt and Uncle, Skeeter and Larry.  The last time we saw them was at my Paw Paw's funeral.  We were long overdue!  It was great to see them and really started off our trip great.

The next day we showed up at the tailgate with big hugs and a few happy tears!  The Schwettman kids knew we were coming but we totally surprised Danielle and Tom. It was great! We even got to meet Logan and Holly's new little one, Nelson.  He's so sweet!  We spent the whole game passing that sweet baby around and cheering on Garrett.  A perfect, beautiful fall day!

After the game we got to visit with Garrett back at the tailgate.  We even ran into the President of WKU and he stopped to congratulate Garrett on the win.  The funniest part of the day was when he showed Garrett his remote control to the bells in the tower on campus.  He has his own remote!  How cool is that!?!  We loved getting to visit with our Murray family.  We miss them so much and really cherish these times together!

A little flashback to Morgan's first time to watch Garrett kick.  Garrett was in high school and Morgan was almost 2!  She loved him even then.

Trick or Treat from These Boos!

Once again Halloween snuck up on us and once again we had fun!  My sweet little loves finally agreed to sit down for some pictures in their Halloween shirts after much bribing!  And nope, I'm not ashamed of that because I got some good ones!

The girls went as a 50's girl and her little poodle.  And they were adorable!  I wasn't sure Macie was going to keep her hat on, but she did great!  Again, the forecast called for storms on Halloween so we did our trick-or-treating the day before.  We are so thankful for our great neighborhood with sweet neighbors who stayed home an extra day for us!  After the kiddos got plenty of candy, we headed to Sam and Sissy's house for dinner.  It was a great night!

Soccer Fun

Morgan's fall soccer has come to an end.  I'm not sure who has loved these weeks more- Morgan or Jeff?  It is their thing to do together and they both love the time.  Morgan is getting better and has had such a sweet team and a great coach.  She's ready to start back in the spring!

And Just Like That She's 6

My sweet Morgan.  Oh how you are loved!  I can not believe you are my kindergartner.  How did this happen?  You are growing up so fast and I am thankful to watch it all happen before me.  You are so very smart and I love watching you learn so much so fast.  You love to go to school and I pray that you long to learn just like this for the rest of your life.  You have so many friends who love to be around you.  This speaks to your kind heart.  I think I am most proud of that.  You test my patience every day but that just shows how you are growing.  You are teaching Macie so much.  She loves to copy everything you do.  She loves you so much!  And when you are kind to her I think my heart will just burst.  We love you sweet girl and can't wait to watch you continue to grow!  Happy Birthday Morgan!

A Change of Plans on the Birthday

Morgan was so excited because her class was going to the pumpkin patch on her birthday.  What a great way to spend the day!  But the weather had different plans.  After it rained the whole day before, some of the Mom's made different plans.  So thankful for them and their quick thinking!  It was much too wet to go to the pumpkin patch, so we brought the fun to the class!  We took over the gathering room and set up some fun carnival games and activities.  The kids had a blast and not one person was sad to be there!

Morgan and Lilla got to celebrate their birthdays too!  Merissa planned the pumpkin carnival so I brought treats for the class to enjoy.  We sang to the girls and watched their class traditions of "blowing out the candles" and getting their birthday "spanking"!  So sweet!

Dawgs vs Cats

After partying with Morgan in the morning, we packed up and headed straight to Starkville for more fun!  We put on our maroon and set up the tailgate.  Party #2 was just as much fun!  The kiddos ran and played while the big kids got to sit and enjoy for awhile too.  Most of us cheered on the Dawgs for the win!  The others cheered on the Cats and we won't hold that against them.  It was a long, long day.  But it was one we won't soon forget!

Tea Party Fanciness

This year Morgan decided she wanted to have a tea party for her birthday.  And she had ideas!  I can't imagine where she gets it from either.  But she knew exactly what she wanted- a fancy tea party under the tree at GaGa's house.  And so it was!  And it was perfect!  We got everything set up just in time for the rain to come.  But that didn't slow down the girls' fun!  The tree protected the girls from the rain and we moved the food under the tent.  Thank goodness we invited two strong men to the party!

It was a sweet party full of giggles and smiles.  The girls came all dressed up and when they got here they put on hats, jewels and white gloves.  To get fancy of course.  They all loved playing on the swing and getting to use real china for their tea.

Morgan has such sweet friends and it was fun to watch them be little girls.  And Lord knows it wouldn't have been such a perfect day if we didn't have help.  Thank you GaGa and Pop for letting us take over your home!  And thank you RoRo, Packe, GG and Bubba for helping set up!  We love Morgan and were so thankful to celebrate her!
