We are the champions, my friend...

After hearing that the Dawgs were going to be playing in the SEC baseball championship game we knew we had to go.  The game was in Birmingham on Sunday and Hollis called to say that he would pick us up on his way through Tupelo.  That was all we needed to hear!  So Sunday morning we woke up, put on our maroon, and headed to cheer on our Dawgs!  Luckily, our baseball boys made our long day in the sun worth it with a championship!  We were thrilled and had a great time.

We need to buy a zoo!

This Memorial Day Weekend began with a clean slate.  It was the first time in a long time that we had multiple days ahead of us with nothing to do.  And since we apparently can't handle that, we quickly filled our days!  After work was canceled for me, we decided to spend Saturday in Memphis.  Morgan has been talking about going to the zoo for awhile now, so off we went!  Jeff hadn't been to a zoo in 20 years so he was ready too.  We had a great time!  But it was so hot!  We saw every animal there and Morgan was a trooper.  After a late lunch she slept in the car the whole way home!

A Little Murray Fun

This weekend Morgan and I went to Murray to hang out with my parents for a few days.  We didn't have anything going on and Jeff was on a golf trip with his guys.  So we packed up and headed north!  We had a great trip and just relaxed and spent time together.  We got to town Saturday night and went straight to Dairy Queen of course!

Sunday brought on church and a graduation party for Garrett. We had a blast! Morgan ran all over the place and loved hanging out with Madison, as usual.  It was a tailgating theme to celebrate that Garrett is going to Western Kentucky University in the fall to play football.  It was a perfect party.  Danielle had the cuteset decorations and Tom grilled up some amazing food!  We are so proud of Garrett!  Everything was really cute...until the rain came.  They had tons of games set up- baseball, corn hole and a fierce game of four square that my mother dominated.  But a sudden storm brought everything into the garage!  Watching these guys try to take down the tent so it wouldn't blow away was hilarious!  We laughed so hard!

Monday Mom and Dad had to work so Morgan and I were lazy at the house.  When we finally got moving we headed to the school to see RoRo.  They were setting up for Project Graduation and had a huge inflatable in the gym.  Morgan went nuts!  The only thing that got her out of that thing was the promise that Packe was going to take her to see the horses.  He picked us up and took us to the Murray State barns and we walked all over looking at those horses.  And she loved it!  Next time we might try to get her on one.  You know she is a Kentucky girl too...

Summer is here

Last week Morgan had her last day of school.  She has been so lucky to have two wonderful sets of teachers!  She started the year with Ms. Sherri and Ms. Kim and then moved up to the older class with Ms. Tina and Ms. Martha.  She really enjoyed school this year and hopefully that will continue with her summer fun days ahead at FUMC!  A huge thank you to everyone who played such an important role with Morgan this year!

I'm a proud sister!

Last weekend we traveled to Starkville to celebrate a major milestone for Carrie- she is officially a Master!  Carrie graduated with her Master's degree in Student Affairs and I could not be more proud of her.  She has just done an amazing job in this program and worked hard all the way through.  Her reward?  A new job at North Alabama starting in July!  I am so excited that she is staying close!  I know it's selfish, but I can't imagine her too far away!  We had a great dinner before the ceremony on Friday night.  And Morgan was a trooper.  She made it through the entire thing!  Some adults couldn't even do that!  It did help that we had plenty of M&M's and that RoRo kept pulling out prizes from her purse.  Saturday we celebrated Mother's Day with an early lunch.  It was such a treat to spend that time with my Mom and Grandma.  It doesn't happen often enough!

Happy Derby Day!

Today was the Kentucky Derby and Morgan and I watched it in typical derby fashion with our hats!  We cheered the horses and while my favorite, Bodemister, didn't win, Morgan was pumped that the "cookie horse" (aka I'll Have Another) won!

I Was Made for a Life of Leisure

Last weekend my Chi O sisters and I made good on a promise we made to each other.  You see, our senior year at State we all took a cruise together for spring break.  We had so much fun that we promised that the year we all turned 30 (and by that I mean school year- yes, holly technically turned 30 last calender year) we would take another cruise to celebrate.  And we did!  And we had SO MUCH FUN!  Anna took care of everything for us and I am very thankful.  Thursday morning Stacey and I got up early and headed down to New Orleans.  After meeting everyone at Holly's house, we grabbed a cab to the ship and got on board!

First drink of the cruise - officially the best day ever!

The first full day on the cruise was spent at sea.  The night before we were exploring the ship and stumbled upon the Serenity Deck.  It was the adults only area and had the only padded lounge chairs on the ship.  And it was calling our names!  Stacey got up early for us and saved our seats on the front row.  It was on the back of the ship so we stared at water all day.  What did we do that day you ask?  Well, nothing.  And it was fabulous!  My happy self sat in that chair from 7:30am-6:00pm.  The only time I got up was to get food!  And we kept the tropical drinks a coming!  It was perfection.  After we finally peeled ourselves off the chairs, we headed to our rooms to get ready for dinner.

The next day we woke up after we docked at Cozumel.  We had some breakfast and headed on land to do some shopping!  After grabbing some souvenirs for the trip we decided to venture out.  We took a cab downtown and stopped to grab lunch at Margaritaville.  It was a perfect choice because after we ate the best guacamole in the world, we jumped straight off their deck and into the crystal clear water!  The restaurant had some really fun inflatable water toys that we took advantage of.  After swimming and playing, we dried out on the deck and headed back to the ship.  That night was another super yummy dinner!

The last day was spent at sea again and it was a carbon copy of our first day.  More lounging in the sun all day long!  It was a relaxing way to wrap up the trip.  Our last night of dinner proved to be the most interesting.  We had a visitor from a neighboring table decide to join us.  The two tables beside us were filled with a group of couples celebrating someones 45th birthday.  They were having a really good time the entire trip.  The last night was slightly more subdued for them... except for one.  She thought it would be a really good idea to join us.  After telling us the intimate details of her and her husband's life, she continued with the other members of her group.  First, she thought we were 18.  Then later, she thought we were 40.  And the icing on the cake was when she flashed her group next to us because they were taking a picture of her.  Somewhere that picture is out there.  I have never laughed so hard at one person in my life.  Once we finally agreed to sing karaoke with her, we were able to slip out.  We laughed all night about her!

Our last morning we were pleasantly surprised to exit the ship a little early.  This left us plenty of time to stop for beignet's at Cafe du Monde before heading home.  A perfect ending to our trip.  We had so much fun just being together that we've already started planning our 40th birthday trip!  Maybe this time we'll bring the boys...

After getting home, I don't think I've hugged Morgan so tight.  I missed her and Jeff like crazy!  A big special thanks to Sissy for coming and helping Jeff make it through the week.  It was very much appreciated by us both!  Now, who's going to bring me my chocolate melting cake...
