I Was Made for a Life of Leisure

Last weekend my Chi O sisters and I made good on a promise we made to each other.  You see, our senior year at State we all took a cruise together for spring break.  We had so much fun that we promised that the year we all turned 30 (and by that I mean school year- yes, holly technically turned 30 last calender year) we would take another cruise to celebrate.  And we did!  And we had SO MUCH FUN!  Anna took care of everything for us and I am very thankful.  Thursday morning Stacey and I got up early and headed down to New Orleans.  After meeting everyone at Holly's house, we grabbed a cab to the ship and got on board!

First drink of the cruise - officially the best day ever!

The first full day on the cruise was spent at sea.  The night before we were exploring the ship and stumbled upon the Serenity Deck.  It was the adults only area and had the only padded lounge chairs on the ship.  And it was calling our names!  Stacey got up early for us and saved our seats on the front row.  It was on the back of the ship so we stared at water all day.  What did we do that day you ask?  Well, nothing.  And it was fabulous!  My happy self sat in that chair from 7:30am-6:00pm.  The only time I got up was to get food!  And we kept the tropical drinks a coming!  It was perfection.  After we finally peeled ourselves off the chairs, we headed to our rooms to get ready for dinner.

The next day we woke up after we docked at Cozumel.  We had some breakfast and headed on land to do some shopping!  After grabbing some souvenirs for the trip we decided to venture out.  We took a cab downtown and stopped to grab lunch at Margaritaville.  It was a perfect choice because after we ate the best guacamole in the world, we jumped straight off their deck and into the crystal clear water!  The restaurant had some really fun inflatable water toys that we took advantage of.  After swimming and playing, we dried out on the deck and headed back to the ship.  That night was another super yummy dinner!

So cute!

The last day was spent at sea again and it was a carbon copy of our first day.  More lounging in the sun all day long!  It was a relaxing way to wrap up the trip.  Our last night of dinner proved to be the most interesting.  We had a visitor from a neighboring table decide to join us.  The two tables beside us were filled with a group of couples celebrating someones 45th birthday.  They were having a really good time the entire trip.  The last night was slightly more subdued for them... except for one.  She thought it would be a really good idea to join us.  After telling us the intimate details of her and her husband's life, she continued with the other members of her group.  First, she thought we were 18.  Then later, she thought we were 40.  And the icing on the cake was when she flashed her group next to us because they were taking a picture of her.  Somewhere that picture is out there.  I have never laughed so hard at one person in my life.  Once we finally agreed to sing karaoke with her, we were able to slip out.  We laughed all night about her!

Our last morning we were pleasantly surprised to exit the ship a little early.  This left us plenty of time to stop for beignet's at Cafe du Monde before heading home.  A perfect ending to our trip.  We had so much fun just being together that we've already started planning our 40th birthday trip!  Maybe this time we'll bring the boys...

After getting home, I don't think I've hugged Morgan so tight.  I missed her and Jeff like crazy!  A big special thanks to Sissy for coming and helping Jeff make it through the week.  It was very much appreciated by us both!  Now, who's going to bring me my chocolate melting cake...
