Fun Weekend!

This past weekend was busy busy busy with a whole ton of fun thrown in.  I had to work one day and then Saturday I had both of our fundraisers for the Tupelo Women's Club.  We definitely needed some extra hands to help!  So Mom spent her weekend helping us out and we are so thankful!  But in between our business we found time to have fun and cheer UK on to the final four!  When we were watching UK play Michigan Morgan said she wanted to cheer for the yellow team.  I asked her, "Would you cheer for the Cats or the Wolves?"  Of course she picked the Cats from that group!  After the game she said, "Bad wolf."  Silly girl!  Thank you RoRo for coming to play!

Play Play Play

Last week Carrie had to stay in Florence for her Spring Break so we decided to go play one day!  We ate, shopped and played at Morgan's favorite playground.  It was a great day!  Later in the week Carsyn and Patrick came by to play too.  Morgan and Carsyn are such sweet friends and play really well together.  But watching Macie and Patrick interact was the best!  It was like they couldn't figure each other out.  They are both used to bigger kids around them so they were shocked that they were the same size!  It was a great week of fun!

Let Her Garden Grow

My Morgan LOVES flowers.  I can always buy some and put them in a vase and we both enjoy them.  One day she told me that she wanted to plant a flower garden in the yard.  If you know me, you know that I can't keep anything alive that I come into contact with.  But I thought that we could learn together so off to Lowe's we went!  I decided to start with baby steps and get a container garden together.  Morgan picked out her flowers she wanted and we bought our supplies.  We got home, planted our "garden" and Morgan was thrilled!

Our Little Angel

We have a wonderful church family at First United Methodist.  It has become a place not just for me and Jeff, but has started to nourish Morgan as well.  This year she was in the Littlest Angels Choir which serves as an introduction to future choirs.  After school she would go and sing for awhile and she loved it!  At the end of their choir they had a performance in our chapel for the families.  It was precious!  Morgan loved wearing the robes and did pretty good!  We were very proud!

A Little Concert Fun

Sissy and I went to see Elton John!  He came to Tupelo and we had to see him.  He was amazing and played all kinds of hits that we just sang along and danced to.  What fun!  And of course with her trip my girls squeezed in some quality playing time with their GaGa.  A perfect visit!

Spring Breaking

For Morgan's Spring Break I packed up the girls and headed to the beach!  We were all in need of some sand therapy and time with RoRo, Packe and GG.  We just got to spend time relaxing and having fun.  It was perfect!  It was still a little chilly but Morgan insisted on putting her toes in the sand... and I will never argue that!  We only had one day of sun so we went to the beach that day.  Good thing because it poured down rain the rest of the week!  But it was just what we needed and we came home ready to finish the school year.

Growing Too Fast

Every night I pray that God will slow time so I can enjoy this.  I want to remember every moment.  And yes, even the late night crying ones!  Because the joy that Macie brings to our life far outweighs all of that.  It's funny to look back but I remember standing in the kitchen crying when it was about a week before Macie was born.  Jeff came in and asked what was wrong.  I told him I just realized that I won't be able to love someone as much as I love Morgan.  He told me he was worried too since we just love her so much.  But God works magic, I swear!  The moment I saw Macie's sweet face I knew I was done for.  The fact that God gave me such sweet baby girls in my life to love so fiercely is amazing.  We are forever blessed!

Ok, enough sappiness and on to the fun!  Macie is a happy little thing and I can't believe she is 6 months old!  Where has this time gone?  This is why I want time to slow.  She is such a snuggle loving girl and will put her face in my chest at any moment.  I pray this never changes.  She is getting stronger each and every day.  She is a rolling machine and will go from one end of the room to another in a second!  She is also sitting up and loves looking at life from this new perspective.

She is generally a happy little girl.  But her biggest smiles and true laughs still come only with big sister.  She is totally a Mommy's girl.  This is just because I am with her ALL the time!  But that will change more as she gets older.  She's eating all kinds of food and rice cereal and hasn't found something she doesn't like yet!  She's a big girl (just like her sister).  At her 6 month checkup she was 18 pounds 4 ounces and is 27" long.  In the 90th percentile of course!

We love her so much and can't wait to see how God works in her life as she grows!

A Blessed Day

On Sunday, March 9, 2014 our sweet Macie Elizabeth was baptized.  It was a glorious day and we could not have asked for more!  Knowing that both of our girls have been baptized in such a wonderful church brings such joy to our lives.  Macie was wide awake and enjoyed the whole thing.  Rev. Colby Cuevas performed the ceremony and baptized her with water he brought back from a recent trip to the River Jordan.  That made everything even more special!  After our church service, we all had lunch and got to visit the rest of the day.  Everything was perfect...almost.  If we could have just kept the stomach bug away from our house!  Last weekend Jeff, Macie and Morgan ALL got sick with the virus.  On Sunday, Sissy woke up sick and then Mom, Grandma, Carrie, Bobby and Sam all felt it on Monday.  Hopefully this is the end of the sickness and was not a great way to end the wonderful weekend!

Family Fun

The Saturday before Macie's baptism was a great one.  We had all of our family in town and we got to just love on each other.  Everyone got to town that afternoon so we just stayed home and played.  And ate.  And laughed.  And had a ball!  It is such a joy to see how much love my two girls have in their lives.  I am thankful each and every day for this family.  Lord knows we would not be here without any of them!
