We Wore Red

We have wanted to watch Garrett Schwettman kick in his final year at Western Kentucky and we finally got our chance!  Mom, Morgan and I packed up and headed north to Bowling Green.  Morgan and I had to buy and borrow some red to wear to the game.  We don't own much red in this house!  But we gladly did it to support Garrett!

We got to town on Friday with plenty of time so we made a pit stop in Glasgow to visit with my great Aunt and Uncle, Skeeter and Larry.  The last time we saw them was at my Paw Paw's funeral.  We were long overdue!  It was great to see them and really started off our trip great.

The next day we showed up at the tailgate with big hugs and a few happy tears!  The Schwettman kids knew we were coming but we totally surprised Danielle and Tom. It was great! We even got to meet Logan and Holly's new little one, Nelson.  He's so sweet!  We spent the whole game passing that sweet baby around and cheering on Garrett.  A perfect, beautiful fall day!

After the game we got to visit with Garrett back at the tailgate.  We even ran into the President of WKU and he stopped to congratulate Garrett on the win.  The funniest part of the day was when he showed Garrett his remote control to the bells in the tower on campus.  He has his own remote!  How cool is that!?!  We loved getting to visit with our Murray family.  We miss them so much and really cherish these times together!

 Here come the Hilltoppers!
The kick is up... and it's good!

A little flashback to Morgan's first time to watch Garrett kick.  Garrett was in high school and Morgan was almost 2!  She loved him even then.

  1. Hey, your pictures are really very interesting. I am sure you also had great time in the event along with the kiddos. You know my son is just 4. He goes to the Phoenix preschool and he loves car racing. We usually take him to the nearby car racing events and he gets so excited there!
